One spot left in our 2012 Workshops in Greece!

December 19, 2011 Basil Hall

There is just one place still available in our July 2-15 workshop on Skopelos this year. The June workshop is fully subscribed, as is the accommodation we suggested to our participants. Contact Basil by email immediately if you are interested. Here is some more info on the apartments we are using:

Milos Apartments on Skopelos comprise 9 rooms, each capable of accommodating at least two and, typically, three people. There is plenty of shared terrace space outside the rooms. Much of this faces north (to your left in the picture) over the Aegean Sea towards neighbouring Alonyssos Island. Towards the far left of the illustration, just beyond the verandah and at street level, is the Milos Studio. In May Basil and Steph will work with local builders to instal our new presses and other equipment in readiness for the first group in mid-June. The advantage of booking in to Milos Apartments for the duration of the workshop  is the proximity of the studio and the favourable price. As you can see, there is parking outside for your hire car. Just beyond the studio is a small supermarket with fresh fruit and veg, milk and most of your simple daily requirements. There are many more (some quite large) supermarkets in town, but you may decide to eat out all the time.

The nearest restaurants are opposite Milos Apartments in the ruins of an old Venetian castle (Kastro) and about two hundred metres away on the road down to Glyfoneri Beach (behind the photographer). Down on the waterfront there are numerous others of course.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
