Refresher For Darwin Teachers

February 3, 2012 Basil Hall

Senior Printer at BHE, Mats Undén, ran a reduction woodblock workshop for a group of Darwin secondary teachers in December. The two day workshop had 6 participants and each managed a small edition of multi-coloured woodblock prints; an impressive outcome in such a short time! The next public workshop at Basil Hall Editions is on the weekend of March10-11 and enrolments are being taken by Leanne Waterhouse at Darwin Visual Arts Association on 08 89819351, mobile: 0414907204 or by emailing: info@dvaa.net.au

Etching, woodblock and lino printing are all options. Monoprints can be attempted, as can collagraphs. Previous experience can help, but we love beginners too! Groups are kept small, so come on in and try! Cost: $195 for the weekend (materials supplied).

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
