And straight onto Collagraph Workshop 2 in Horsham

January 29, 2023 Basil Hall

Almost immediately after Sturt Workshops, I headed off to Horsham in Western Victoria for Summer Brushes, another Summer artists extravaganza run by Grampians Brushes for painters and printmakers, with pastel and pencil also on offer. I had a talented mob of 12 artists; 6 who had done collagraph before and 6 who hadn’t, but all experienced image makers and willing to have a go at this versatile medium. There was a press on loan, so all I had to sent was mat card, etching blankets, drying boards and blotters and plenty of materials with which to paint, cut, collage, varnish and ink up numerous plates. The participants brought the rest, and the results were stunning. Many of these are on our Instagram page, so I won’t put them all up here.
