Canberra workshops when Lockdown ends?

October 16, 2021 Basil Hall

It has been nearly two years since I ran any printmaking workshops at home in Canberra, owing to the you-know-what. The lockdown time  has allowed editioning to continue without any interruptions. We have also made some additions to the house to accommodate visitors. I would love to welcome individual artist visitors in future and to offer a number of workshops to those who would like to access the etching, relief and screen printing equipment here. Let’s hope things clear up a little soon, and we can start to advertise.

Here is part of the new “clean studio” where artists I collaborate with and groups of friends/workshop participants (usually the same thing!) can sit and work. The presses are across the verandah 20 metres away in the main studio.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
