It has been nearly 8 years since our last Basil Hall Editions exhibition, although most of our prints show regularly in exhibitions put on by commercial galleries and the Indigenous art centres themselves. In 2008 we put up Etched in the Sun at the Drill Hall Gallery in Canberra and exhibited over 150 pieces. The former Director there, Nancy Sever, now runs Nancy Sever Gallery in Kingston, ACT. Hence our latest offering, Etched in the Sun II, to be opened on May 6 at 6.00pm. It will run for a month and will feature nearly 70 works, including the Desert Mob Panel, which comprised woodblocks by 40 artists from 40 Central Australian communities, and 5 beautiful new etchings by Warmun artists Lena Nyadbi, Mabel Juli, Peggy Patrick, Gordon Barney and Shirley Purdie. Prices start at $220…
