Workshop at Warmun Arts. 40 degrees in October!

October 10, 2013 Basil Hall

Basil moved swifly from Maningrida one week to Warmun (Turkey Creek) in Western Australia the next (after a quick stopover in Darwin to wash his clothes and join up with his partner, Pam, who accompanied him to Warmun). It was an unusual week in the usually frantically busy art centre, with a public holiday on the Monday, followed by three days of meetings and a fairly quiet Friday. However, as these things go, the wonderful Warmun painters came and went in small numbers all week and into the next – the final Monday being both the busiest workshop day and Basil and Pam’s departure from the community) and plenty of beautiful new etchings and silkscreen prints will follow. Here Lena Nyadbi is seen working on a new etching in her signature style, and she just finished it as the printers departed for Kununurra
