Two more fabulous printers

July 26, 2012 Basil Hall

This was such a nice shot of both Tash Rowell (left) and Beth Conway, they have to share a photo! Tash joined BHE almost at the very beginning, so was our longest standing staff member. Some of her highlights would I’m sure be the 2003 Garma Festival we attended, the “Love Magic” portfolio we worked on and the more recent Desert Mob Panel Woodblock prints; major projects whose success was in no small measure due to the part Tash played. After a stint in Indonesia and giving birth to two children, Tash returned to us in the new studio and has been pretty much the “memory” of the organisation. “Tash, where have I put the…?” Beth has been with us on two occasions as a visiting printer and totally endeared herself to us all. She also went on a couple of workshops and her good nature and optimism helped us through some interesting trips! Thank you both so much for being part of the BHE gang in Darwin.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
