Mandy Martin etching (triptych) Imanara 2009

July 5, 2009 Basil Hall

Mandy Martin’s triptych Imanara, an etching on Hahnemuhle paper made in 2009.

Mandy worked with Kumanjayi Cherel at Fitzroy Crossing; each artist painting and subsequently making an etching of this scene of Painted Rocks, a sacred site on Cherel’s land. Three generations of his family and the current manager of the cattle property on which this site is located, also made etchings based on the rock art at Painted Rocks. The prints, including Mandy’s, will make up a beautiful folio set to be printed by Basil and Mats and launched later in 2009.
