Another print from the upcoming Studio One exhibition on February 2 at Tuggeranong Arts, Canberra

January 17, 2024 Basil Hall

This beautiful colour etching is by George Gittoes, who made around 80 editions with Studio One during the 80’s and early 90’s. This one is “Jesus Came to Set the captives Free”, a colour etching from 1993.

Come and see this extraordinary exhibition of prints from the years 1987-1996, when I was Editioning Manager at Studio One Printmaking Workshop in Canberra. It’s a who’s who of Canberra printmakers and artist visitors who came and worked at the studio in Kingston.

Opening February 2nd and running until the end of March, 2024

In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
