Prominent Torres Strait Islander, David Bosun, visited in February and made over 50 new works with our printers. David has been working in his Moa Island studio on mono prints, combined with various shaped stencils, so we continued in this vein, throwing in a couple of heavily grained woodblocks and some collagraph techniques. The new mono print/mixed media works featured sea life and a strong environmental message, as the Torres Strait tries to get the climate change message out to the Australian government. Sea levels are rising, the water is warming and corals are dying.
