Four workshops in May for Basil Hall Editions!

June 4, 2024 Basil Hall

May has been a full month, with three workshops here in the Canberra studio and one with the Makers in Gosford. Two colour etching workshops were offered and two were in collagraph. The participants were a mix of new people, artists who have been to up to four of my previous workshops, people I have taught alongside in the past, former students and complete beginners. It has been a great joy to offer these workshops, but I am taking a break for a few months now to concentrate on my own printmaking and to work with selected artists on a one to one basis in Canberra. It will be nice to get off the road for a while after over 35 years of travelling to (mostly) remote places with boxes of printmaking equipment.

Check out our Instagram site (Basil Hall) for more pictures from the recent workshops.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
