New woodblock prints at Galiwingku

Happiness is a full rack of drying prints, although 100% humidity every night does make drying these woodblock prints very difficult. The 250gsm Stonehenge paper also went very floppy and stretched! I have just had a week with Elcho Island Arts at Galiwingku in NT. We have continued making reduction woodblocks, as in previous years, but this time have included silkscreened overlays. Several of the men have also made silkscreen prints. Each morning the artists would cut a section of their block and I would print up the editions in the afternoon. Then they would return (hoping the ink had dried overnight) to cut their next colour.
