Alfonso has already made one colour etching with me (by correspondence) during Covid, so this workshop was our opportunity to work in person. Here he is working in colour on a transparent layer over his sugar lift etching plate. The acetate will later become a colour plate for the green. He made four new colour etchings during my week on the island and I’m now etching the various plates back in Canberra. Alfonso was one of five regulars at Ngaruwanajirri Art Centre who took part in the workshop funded by Arts NT. Many thanks to them for giving this dynamic group a chance to branch out into a new medium.
