2017 Residencies at BHE

February 13, 2017 Basil Hall

We have had three artists working at Basil Hall Editions in Braidwood since mid-January. Sue Thomas, who is currently enrolled at National Art School, has been here to make plates and do some proofing. An increasing number of individual artists are accessing the facilities for aquatinting, proofing, photo exposures and the use of Basil’s expertise. This year, studio use will be charged at $50 a day (plus any materials) and any time with Basil being charged at $66hr. Plenty of accommodation is available nearby at Poet’s Corner, Fran Ifould’s Braidwood Arts Accommodation, B & Bs, hotels and motels in town.20161222_115513_resized

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
