Silkscreen studio taking shape at BHE in 2016

The Canberra silkscreen studio was almost fully set up in early 2016.  We installed a new 2m exposure table in the darkroom to replace a tried and true sheet of plate glass and a piece of foam rubber, which we had successfully used for 20 years. New work for Mowandjum Arts in Derby, WA was the first to be exposed using the new system. We then had a number of large combination etching/silkscreen prints to do for Warmun Arts in WA, and work in the new studio has continued flat out since then. Studio

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
