And almost the next day…another workshop in Victoria

September 21, 2015 Basil Hall

Basil and his 32kg suitcase then headed to Melbourne (after the Grampians adventure) and he ran a workshop at the Fire Station Printmaking Workshop in Armidale. Participants were given the opportunity to apply the chine collé colour technique to existing linocuts and etchings, or to carve and print a new woodblock print, using shina ply (from MES). At left is one of the beautiful hand-coloured sheets (already hand-printed on the reverse the day before) about to be adhered to a backing of Arches paper during the workshop.IMG_5023

In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
