One of the workshop participants, Sylvie, hand-painting the back of her woodblock print with a mixture of powder pigment and rice glue in readiness for the next stage.
Everyone had to cut and print their woodblocks on Day 1 so that they had a chance to dry by the Sunday. They then needed to be painted, glued, dried again and then adhered to a backing paper. A busy weekend, but it introduced a medium that can be done safely at home with a minimum of materials and equipment.
