Clinton Barker residency at BHE

February 4, 2015 Basil Hall

Clint often works at Basil Hall Editions as a screen printer, and has editioned many of our silkscreen prints over the last 7 years. This month he is here doing a residency and working on his own etching plates. He has received funding from the RADF (Regional Arts Dev’t Fund, administered by the Arts Queensland) to develop his knowledge in the etching field. He is seen here on Day 1, already blocking out a deeply bitten design onto what will be a circular plate, 50 x 50cms in size. For some reason, Braidwood decided it wasn’t summer today, so both Clint and Basil are wearing jumpers and long pants.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
