Basil Hall Editions will exhibit around 30 works in a small exhibition at the Braidwood Community Arts Centre in Wallace St, Braidwood, NSW this month. Opening to the public on Sept 15, the exhibition will include major works by Lena Nyadbi, Maringka Baker (etching 2009, at left), Mandy Martin, Kumanjayi Cherel, Dorothy Napangardi, Regina Wilson and Garry Shead. The prints have all been made in collaboration with Basil and printed by him and his team of printers in the last 5 years at the former BHE studio in Darwin.
At 6pm on September 19, Basil will give a talk on the making of the works and introduce to his new home town the collaborative work he has been doing with artists for almost 30 years in Canberra, Darwin, Greece and remote and urban areas of Australia.
The prints are primarily Workshop Proof copies from the studio archive, but it is possible to buy a numbered copy of most of the beautiful relief prints, etchings and screenprints on show.
