Another 2013 Artist in Residence at the Skopelos studio

February 12, 2013 Basil Hall

Mieke Cohen from Sydney, NSW, will join Munich-based Australian artist Christopher Croft on the island in May  2013 and they will share the Milos studio during their stay. Mieke plans to make some more copper plate etchings (following her earlier visit to the island in 2010 – she is seen working hard at left) and will stay at Milos Apartments, above our workshop. The studio is available for use by artists from around May to September each year. Printmaking experience is required if the equipment is to be used, but the studio, with its views of the Aegean and position high above the old town of Skopelos, would suit any artist who wanted a beautiful space in which to paint, make artist books, draw or think! Contact Basil for details by emailing info@basilhalleditions.com.au

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
