November Weekend Workshops #1 and #2, Darwin

November 13, 2011 Basil Hall

Darwin artist, Talitha Kennedy, inking her plate during the first of three workshops Basil is running in Darwin in November and December for local artists and teachers. Jan Milner-Cole has been rudely obscured, but is looking on intently! A group of seven enjoyed etching and woodblock printing for two days during the first of two workshops organised by the Darwin Visual Arts Association. Last weekend another group of 8 enjoyed some etching and some have even come back for more during the week as access users! We hope to continue to offer workshops and studio access to local artists at the Basil Hall Editions workshop in Woolner from now on. Contact Basil or Mats at the studio on 89417445 if you are interested in finding out more.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
