I recently ran a workshop in Beswick in the Northern Territory (see earlier entry). The fourteen new prints (seven pairs) are about to be framed and sent up to Katherine for an exhibition at the Godinymayin Culture Centre on the outskirts of town. Here is one sneak peek of a pair of etchings by Major Cameron and his wife Susan Ashley, incorporating the leaves of the bush apple, which we have pressed into a soft wax and etching as part of the image. Using leaves which are important to the Beswick mob was part of the theme for this series, and we were able to use Djilpin Arts’ new etching press for the soft ground transfers.
