Senior Wiluna artist Kitty Richards

May 2, 2009 Basil Hall

What a colourful sight! Kitty Richards, a senior artist at Wiluna, and her fellow lino-cutters, Shiela and Nyapurla, all wore fabulous hats on the last day of Basil’s linocut and woodcut workshop at Wiluna in April. It was a first for many of the women, but the editions produced are quite stunning and will be available from Tjukurba Gallery. Six of the prints have been hung in the 2009 Desert Mob exhibition at the Araluen Centre in Alice Springs.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
