Back to Beswick for Series XI at Djilpin Arts

October 29, 2023 Basil Hall

Yes, it’s the eleventh series of prints we have been involved with at Beswick! We went out there in May armed with collagraph materials this time, and many of the regulars turned up for another week of printmaking. We have tried quite a number of different media at Djilpin. The artists have made screen prints on fabric and paper, intricate colour etchings, rugged woodblocks and, now, more painterly and textured work using simple plates made with mat card, glue, gesso and various paints and additives. The plates are inked intaglio (like etchings) and print up a treat, often with the addition of screen printed colours over the top.
