A Desert Mob outing at Ngununggula Regional Gallery, Bowral

October 29, 2023 Basil Hall

In March and April, I was involved in an exhibition called “Belonging” with the Southern Highlands Printmakers, and exhibition three recent prints. Exhibiting at the same time was the art centre from Alice Springs, known as Iltja Ntjara or “Many Hands”. As Ngununggula is a large space comprising a number of galleries in this newly opened facility, there was room for the 2010 Desert Mob Panel to get another outing in front of a new audience. I freshly framed the 40 small woodblock prints from 40 art centres in Central Australia and the five large Panel pieces, and these were beautifully displayed by Ngununggula staff between the two other exhibitions.
