Collagraphs at Grampians Brushes, September

October 6, 2022 Basil Hall

I have just got back from running another fun six day workshop at Hall’s Gap in the Grampians for Grampians Brushes. Over 320 participants and 17 tutors converged on this small settlement, nuzzled under the escarpment of the mighty Grampians range, for a fun week of workshops. This year I had 11 participants for a collagraph workshop. We shared a large space with my mate Winsome Jobling, from Darwin, who was also teaching various interesting printmaking techniques that she has devised. My group ranged from highly experienced to “never before” and I would like to thank the former for their gentle help and encouragement and the latter for being so brave and brilliant! It was truly wonderful to see what came off these modest pieces of mat board by the end of the workshop (see our display in the Hall’s Gap hall on Day 6). Well done, everyone.
