The passing of Dr B Marika AO. A very sad loss

July 20, 2021 Basil Hall

I am so sad to add my condolences to those of B.M’s family and friends on the occasion of her passing last week. I had been in constant contact with her as we worked together on what turned out to be the last print in a wonderful career. She was about to add the sinuous white outline around all the figures and along the black dividing lines to complete this beautiful coloured version of her 1990s linocut “Mawuka”. Farewell old friend (though no older than me) and thank you for working with me for over 30 years.
