Tarnanthi 2019 continued

Few could fail to appreciate the achievements of this wonderful old lady. Her display of barks and larrakidj in the downstairs galleries was breathtaking, made all the more exciting by my having been in Yirrkala recently watching her paint a big work like these. Nongirrnga Marawili has taken her painting to a while new level it seems, now with the added inclusion of glorious magenta from discarded toner cartridges. This was one powerful wall.
