Back to Albury (and the circus!)

May 17, 2018 Basil Hall

We are missing some of the gang, but here’s the scene from last week’s first (of two) workshops at Creators’ Artspace in Albury/Wodonga. Following a drawing session at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus, our participants group-devised a collaborative woodblock print measuring 135 x 60cms, drew it up, fine-tuned it, cut it out and printed it up…all in two days! At left we are at the beginning of the lay out process (before we had to reverse the lot and transfer them to the blocks for cutting). I will print up copies of the large completed piece for each of the artists once I return to the Braidwood studio in a fortnight. Well done to all.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
