King Island 2016 Printmaking Workshops

This year, with the assistance of Arts Tasmania, three indigenous artists from northern Tasmania once again joined the workshop run by Basil Hall and Andrew and Dianne Blake on King Island. Here Cheryl Rose and Basil check out her first coloured woodblock on Day 3. Although the pigment-colouring technique can be done by hand, we had Dianne’s etching press installed at the Currie Cultural Centre to enable smooth adhesion of the Iwaki paper to its Magnani carrier.
