Clint Barker’s Burleigh Bongos 2015

February 19, 2015 Basil Hall

Clint Barker has just finished a four plate colour etching at Basil Hall Editions. At left is the final proof, printed by Basil, Clint and Rebecca Drew in Braidwood today. The image comprises red, yellow, blue-black and cream plates; the cream being a final over-roll. Clint’s has adapted his customary way of developing an image to his etching, and the finished product has all the painterly qualities of his canvases and the textural qualities of four deeply bitten and worked plates.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
