Visiting artists at Basil Hall’s 2014 Skopelos Printmaking experience visited the Sendoukia tombs yesterday. Set high on a hill overlooking neighbouring Alonissos Island, the four tombs are carved into solid rock and have extremely heavy stone lids, which were pulled back many years ago. We walked up to the tombs fairly early to avoid the warmest part of the day and returned to the studio via an old monastery and a very small unsealed track. The days have been absolutely perfect, with temperatures in the mid-high twenties. The usual routine of eat-print-swim-eat-sleep-print and eat has been closely adhered to again this year!
