Sydney painter, Garry Shead has been back in Braidwood working on a new series of colour etchings with Basil. Continuing a collaboration which started in the late 1980s, the two spent several days adding three new images to a series of dancing couples called “Tango”. Garry completed “Tango I – IV” many years ago and the etchings were hugely successful, so it is expected that the new plates will be eagerly anticipated. Each etching comprises a blue/black, a red and a yellow plate. Garry is seen here in the Basil Hall Editions studio blocking out a section of plate with bitumen paint before it is etched.
