Our favourite lunchtime spot, Skopelos, Greece

July 17, 2012 Basil Hall

The Kosmas family has been so kind to us over many years now and 2012 was no exception. When you eat there, as our groups have done so many times during the June and July workshops on Skopelos, you really feel as though you have been invited into their home. Steph and Basil made a presentation to Maria and Sotiri at the final lunchtime with the July mob: a framed colour etching of a little Greek owl by Charlotte Kimberlee, and, as usual, our hosts had the final say with an extra wine or two and some delicious Skopelos galatopita (milk pie). Thank you to all the family and staff (Kyratso, Maria, Sotiri, Orestes, Christina…) for a wonderful summer!

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
