The Greek island of Skopelos now has two fully equipped printmaking studios available for rent, so is set to continue a great tradition of attracting artists from all over the world to this fascinating part of Greece. The Skopelos Foundation, run by Gloria Carr and her daughter Jill Somer, has been operating since 1999 and has hosted numerous individual artists and groups for workshops in a variety of media. This year Basil Hall Editions has rented a studio (near the kastro – castle) set up by artists Basil Hall, Steph Bolt and Helen Mueller and will use it as a base for its workshops in 2012. The space is also available for use by individual artists (not necessarily, or exclusively, printmakers) during late Spring and Summer from next year. Studio rent is payable to the host: Milos Studios and accommodation is available there too.
