Studio One Exhibition to open on February 2 at Tuggeranong Arts, Canberra

January 17, 2024 Basil Hall

I have been going through the solander boxes and have pulled out 115 beautiful prints from my days at Studio One National Print workshop in Canberra (1987-1996). The works range from Printer’s Proofs of print editions we did with our editioning clients, works by resident artists at Studio One, prints by studio visitors, workshop attendees, TAFE students and children attending our classes. A wonderful colourful range representing the extraordinary years that Studio One serviced Canberra’s printmakers and artists who wanted to make or learn how to make prints.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
