Back to Skopelos with David Frazer

November 14, 2023 Basil Hall

After a Covid hiatus, we finally made it back to Skopelos to assist David Frazer on two wood engraving workshops at our studio on the island. 23 participants plus partners and some children descended on the island in September. The first 10 day workshop had to weather Storm Daniel, as it dumped on the mainland near Volos, then skirted around us with a night of thunder and lightning and headed over to Libya to cause havoc and huge numbers of casualties. The group spent quite a bit of time in the studio as a result, and produced beautiful prints, foregoing their rest day until the weather finally improved. The second party then arrived, the sun came out and business returned to normal. Two days on, one day off for a sailing trip to nearby Alonnisos, three days on and so on until the final fabulous exhibition and dinner.

David has already announced another workshop in September, 2024, and it appears to have filled already.
