Harry Tjutjuna prints at Chapman & Bailey in Melbourne

April 18, 2017 Basil Hall

Basil and his wife Pam had a great trip to Pipalyatjara to work with a number of senior artists at Ninuku Arts a couple of years ago. Harry Tjutjuna was still painting there then, and completed a large silkscreen print and enough painted acetates to enable Basil to expose and make a suite of etchings in Braidwood this year. The first three of these 50 x 50cm prints are on show at Chapman & Bailey Gallery in (Johnson St, Abbotsford), Melbourne with a group of earlier prints done at the art centre. Here Harry works and Basil thinks about what he can do with the separations back in his studio later.Harry Tjutjuna at Pip

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
