Well, if it’s mid March, that must have been Townsville last weekend for our latest (and sixth) workshop for the year! Basil hadn’t been up there for work for 20 years, and thoroughly enjoyed running an etching workshop at Umbrella Studios for ten local artists. The weekend was organised by staff at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and was made possible by the National Gallery of Australia, as it was designed to coincide with the NGA’s touring exhibition of prints by the talented Jessie Traill. We covered almost everything in two days, so everyone went away having seen or done chine colle, multi plate colour etching, soft ground, drypoint, hard ground…..thanks Townsville!
