Promising young Mowanjum artist, Rihannon Bradshaw holds up one of her carved blocks, done during Basil’s recent workshop in this far N-W corner of Australia. This image of two wandjina heads was the first lino block printed on Mowanjum Artists’ new etching press. During the workshop we printed a number of small editions in black and white directly onto Magnani paper through the press. We also used barens to print by hand onto various thin Japanese papers from Melbourne Etching Supplies. These were then coloured and adhered to the Magnani through the press later using rice glue.
