Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to our loyal readers

January 13, 2013 Basil Hall

I came across this amongst the Christmas photos and realised I hadn’t wished everyone a Merry one.

From all of us at BHE (that’s only Basil at present until printing gets underway in the second week of January), I hope you, our loyal friends and clients, had a Merry Christmas and will have a wonderful 2013.

We are now open for business in Braidwood and look forward to continuing to working with artists Australia-wide. Meanwhile, I will conduct printmaking workshops here for groups of 4-5 (on demand: give me a call) and edition for artists. I currently have ahead of me plates by Fregon artist, Robin Kankapankatja, silkscreens for David Bromley and lots of new work from Indulkana to proof.

Here’s my Christmas tree in Braidwood, seen in front of a beautiful old canvas (“Parmapardu – Flying Ant story) by Yuendumu artist, Jack Jakamara Ross, and a didjeridoo by Djalu Gurruwiwi from east Arnhem Land.

ABOUT BHE

For the last nineteen years Basil has run Basil Hall Editions, first from a purpose-built studio in Darwin, then from two studios: one in Braidwood, NSW and one in Canberra. In 2020 Basil moved all the equipment to Canberra. He and his team host visiting artists or travel to remote Aboriginal  communities, collaborating with over 100 artists a year, or other regional locations, offering workshops.
